Police say a man stopped for a broken tailight was riding a stolen moped.
Ronney James Allison, 34, of the 900 block of Canterbury Court in Gastonia, was arrested Saturday after police stopped him on the blue Elono moped, which Gastonia Police had reported stolen.
Allison gave police a false last name and tried to run from the officer, according to magistrate's orders and affidavits.
He was charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen goods or property and two counts of resisting a public officer. He was jailed on a $10,000 secured bond.

Charlotte police are looking for a man who shot a homeless man, then drove away on a Moped. Police say the victim was standing under a bridge on North Tryon street. A man pulled up on a Moped and there was an argument.
Police say the suspect pulled a pistol and shot the victim in both legs. The injuries were serious by not life threatening according to police
