N eight-year-old girl had a lucky escape when she was hit by a moped in Craigavon

Before June, the only two-wheeled vehicle Art Jeffries had ridden was a bicycle.
Then, the custodian and father of two, 42, spotted his dream machine - the one his mom had nixed some 25 years previously - on CraigsList.
Soon, $600 later, Jeffries was the proud owner of a 1983 Honda Express.
Like many in the growing wave of moped and scooter riders in Iowa, Jeffries said his purchase was motivated by $4-a-gallon gas. Many models get 70 to 90 miles per gallon.
