Fire Chief Robert Stoker said the occupants were repairing a moped when, in the process, it caught fire.
'They tried to put it out and they called 911,' he said.
Stoker said the garage along with a boat were totalled. There was also damage done to the fence in the back, and the fire did spread to parts of the house. It reached the attic where the flames also damaged a master bedroom, two bedrooms and a bathroom

Just days into the school year, some area high school students are finding a fast way to get to school and save money at the same time.
Jesslyn Froseth is a senior at De Pere High School. She proudly drives past the parking lot each morning on her way to school, stationing her moped beside the other two-wheeled bikes.
'It's cheaper on gas,' Jesslyn said.
Students say about five dollars will gas their moped for two weeks. It's a reason why they say they see more and more of them on school grounds.
'I am noticing a lot more mopeds this year, and I've seen the one that I have a lot more around,' junior Bennett Laes said.
Other high schools are seeing the switch from cars to mopeds, too
